Leila and Jess at Muna and Broad have been using some beautiful colour combos. For this outfit I totally copied @leila_sews with these versions of their Torrens Box top in red and Willandra pants in black. I made straight size ii in the trousers, just lengthening them 1” at the shorten lengthen line. The fit is amazing for me – you can see it a bit better in the pics with the sleeveless top. And they are sooo comfortable. It’s so great to sew a trouser pattern first time and have it fit everywhere!

These trousers have an unusual asymmetric side seam, which is kind of fun, but you can’t really see it in the black. The side seam comes partly around the front and the pockets are cleverly constructed into this seam.
For the top, instead of a full bust adjustment, I graded from the smaller iii into size ii at the second notch down on the side seam. I might lengthen the top slightly towards the centre front at the hem on the next one – a little more full bust adjustment!
Since I often have to do a biceps adjustment, I chose the wider of the two sleeve options provided. However, this was too big and I later took each sleeve in a total of 2”. I made the neckline a bit lower, maybe a little too much, and might bring it up in the next version.
Both are made in a lovely viscose twill I got from @craftystudio. It has a bit of weight to it and is very drapey. A little warm now temperatures have gone up, slightly, but will be great in the autumn.

Hi Sheila – as usual another great sew – those trousers fit so well. Will be following your blog. Not sewing myself at the moment – I had a blood clot in my lung a couple of weeks ago. I have treatment for it but I am so very weak and totally shattered. I love seeing what you are making.
